This is a continuation on the retro photo theme I started yesterday. There are two key characteristics of old photos I'd like to reproduce with a digital camera, without using photoshop. The first is the reciprocity failure (in film) towards a particular color tone such as orange or blue. This is very common in most aged, color photographs. The second is inconstant exposure or exposure artifacts in the frame of the photo.
In the shot above, I particularly focused on reproducing the second characteristic. I like the exposure artifact in this shot but feel the overall tone shift to blue is over the top. The blue shift is a product of using a gel during the long exposure (~20 seconds). ...s
